Australian pain education standards exhibited at the 2026 National Nursing Forum
The faculty and standards project team exhibited the Australian Standards for Health Practitioner Pain Management Education at the 2026 Australian Nursing Forum, held in Melbourne CBD from 6-7 August.
The forum provided a fantastic opportunity to discuss and promote the standards with nurses working across a broad range of specialties and settings, and to hear directly about their experiences of pain management education and care.
Importantly, we connected with nurses working at key educational touchpoints across the profession, including clinical nurse educators, clinical nurse consultants and other nursing leaders who play an important role in supporting education and professional development within the health workforce.
These conversations are crucial to building awareness of the standards as a national benchmark for health practitioner pain management education and creating further opportunities to support their implementation across nursing education and practice.
