Seeking a new DPA (Accreditation)

2 min read

We're seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from suitably qualified FANZCA for the position of Director of Professional Affairs (Accreditation). Applications close 4 December 2026.

This is a part-time role (0.2 FTE) that provides a unique opportunity to shape the future of accreditation across ANZCA programs and training environments.

Accreditation is central to ANZCA’s commitment to excellence in specialist medical education, training quality, patient safety and professional standards. The Director of Professional Affairs (Accreditation) will provide strategic leadership and expert advice across the Anaesthesia Training Program, Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM) Training Program, Rural Generalist Anaesthesia (RGA), Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (DHM), and EMAC accreditation activities.

A key focus of the role will be supporting the college’s transition to the Australian Medical Council’s new standards and procedures for training-setting accreditation from 2027. This includes contributing to the development and implementation of accreditation systems, advising on supervision, trainee wellbeing, cultural safety and quality assurance, and representing ANZCA with external stakeholders such as the AMC and Medical Council of New Zealand.

The successful applicant will be a FANZCA with extensive accreditation experience, a strong understanding of college policies and processes, and a significant history of volunteer service to the college. Experience as an accreditation visitor, reviewer or accreditation committee member is desirable.

This role reports to the Executive Director of Professional Affairs and offers the opportunity to work closely with college leadership, accreditation committees, education staff and external regulatory bodies to support continuous improvement in ANZCA accreditation standards and processes.

Expressions of Interest, together with a current CV, should be submitted by 4 December 2026 to [email protected]  For a position description and more information, please email Dr Vanessa Beavis, Executive Director of Professional Affairs.
