Registrations are now open for the 2026 Austin Health and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Perioperative Medicine Symposium, taking place in Melbourne from 20–22 March 2026. This three-day event includes a one-day scientific meeting and two days of workshops, all held at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Designed to be easily accessible, this meeting offers a valuable opportunity to connect with perioperative clinicians including anaesthetists, surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals from across Australia and New Zealand. We are pleased to announce our invited international speaker is Associate Professor Gunisha Kaur. Associate Professor is an associate professor of anesthesiology, the founding director of the Human Rights Impact Lab and co-medical director of the Weill Cornell Center for Human Rights. The scientific program being held on Saturday 21 March at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne is broad ranging and will cover:

- Panel session "From Propofol to Philosophy: No pressure…ask us what you dare!"
In addition to the symposium on Saturday 21 March, there will be several workshops held on Friday 20 March and Sunday 22 March at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne. These workshops will cover key clinical skills and scenarios in perioperative medicine, including prehabilitation and shared decision-making (SDM), ALS2 (refresher), cardiac arrest management, high frequency jet ventilation masterclass, difficult airway management, and gastric ultrasound. Please note that the airway workshop is managed and registered directly through the Safe Airway Society. You can't register for the difficult airway workshop through ANZCA.

Your registration will include all refreshment breaks and welcome drinks at the symposium on Saturday 21 March. We encourage nurses and allied health to attend the meeting. Workshops are additional. Please view the workshop program for the fees.
All registration fees are quoted in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST.

Participants in the ANZCA and FPM CPD Program will automatically have their attendance auto-populated to their CPD portfolio within 14 days of the conclusion of the meeting.

Category 2: Knowledge and skills
Lectures/plenary sessions under ‘Learning sessions’.
Workshops and small group discussions under ‘Short format learning’ activity.
Category 3: Emergency responses
Where the workshop states that it satisfies an Emergency response CPD requirement, it has been recognised as suitable to be claimed as an emergency response activity, such as the ‘ALS2 (Refresher)’ and ‘Cardiac arrest and anaphylaxis’ workshops.

If you’re not participating in the ANZCA and FPM CPD program, please check with your respective college/provider regarding your CPD classifications. Post-event, you may request an electronic certificate of attendance for CPD evidence from the event organiser.
