With prior approval from the faculty and with the support of your head of department and the respective hospital administration, flexible (part-time and/or interrupted training) is possible under specific circumstances. Application is made via the Flexible Training Request/Training Amendments form in the FPM ePortfolio.
With the exception of recognition of prior experience, all applications for flexible training must be submitted prospectively. A reduced training fee may apply, as outlined in by-law 4.11.
Full-time equivalent (FTE) for part-time training is calculated pro-rata based on 38 hours per week maximum.
Fees
Annual training fees are due on 31 January each year. Non-payment of an annual training fee or registration maintenance fee by 28 February will result in a trainee being put into interrupted training and status changed to "Not Financial".
Non-payment of an annual training fee or registration maintenance fee by 31 March will result in a trainee being withdrawn from the training program.
If you are unable to pay your annual fees by the due date, please contact the faculty to request an extension of annual training fee due date or to discuss a payment plan option. Approval of such requests are based on individual circumstances.
The college also offers a number of bursaries to trainees suffering severe financial hardship. Each bursary is awarded in the form of a 50 per cent reduction in the annual training fee. Applications for 2025 bursaries have now closed.
